I needed a small dresser for the back of my closet. I found this old solid wood dresser and painted it old white, annie sloan chalk paint. Perfect for what I wanted it for.
I love this old wood desk. It is a very old sturdy wood desk with lots of details and character. The purple paint was chipping off though so it was time for a little refresh. I painted this with 2 coats AS Old White and soft wax. I think it woud be cute with dark wax too but this is for my college age daughters first apartment and everything she has is white. I like how it turned out. Love the old knobs too. I did distress just a bit but not much.
This child’s easel I painted in Annie Sloan Old White, slightly waxed and distressed. Turns out to be perfect for my REALTOR open houses.

I have been wanting to chalk paint 2 office chairs in Annie Sloan’s Emperor’s Red. This seems like a fairly big project though so I started off chalk painting 2 smaller fabric projects: a small pillow for an outside bench and a small fabric foot rest for my family room.

And the Foot Stool:
Both turned out great and I would definitely paint fabric again. I do think that fabric painting can be a bit trickier though so I probably need a little more practice before taking on the larger office chairs. Just a note here about wax, I did not use wax on either the pillow or the foot stool but I understand that you can. I also did not mist water as I was painting which I probably should have on the foot stool so it was a bit hard when it dried. I pushed on it a few times though and now the fabric is no longer rough to the touch.
This white table was cute in white too but since I am changing color schemes in my home I wanted a red table. I love Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Emperor’s Silk. See the pictures of the painting process with no wax, then dark wax added which will mute the red into a beautiful rustic red.
I took this small painted area on the wall and turned it into a mini chalk board. I use it for last minute shopping reminders and also for my weekly Menu. It’s very handy and takes up just a portion of the wall. Very cute and convenient too.
Started by masking off area.
Finished with 3 coats Annie Sloan graphite chalk paint.
After using Annie Sloan paint for a year I decided it was time to Go Bold. Found this solid wood cabinet (or nightstand) and decided on Annie Sloan Emperor’s Silk.

I just love how this turned out. I used 2 coats of paint, one coat clear wax and light coat of dark wax. You can go darker too if you want more richness. I have this in the family room now because this room needed a little splash of color. This color is fabulous and very rich when using dark wax.
