Painted Baskets

These Ikea baskets got a fresh look with 1 coat of “Old White” AS paint. It’s so simple to paint baskets. Just paint one coat with a brush, let dry then dab sections that need it with smaller brush to complete and fill in areas that need it.

Just completed my first bathroom cabinet painting project. I really like how it turned out. The cabinets were not bad to begin with just a bit dated. They were the original honey oak color from when my home was built in 1989. I chose Annie Sloan, Old White chalk paint. I used 2 coats of paint & 2 coats of clear wax. I did not distress at all as I needed a crisper clean look for the bathroom. I had finished painting last week but just got the knobs on today which completed the look I wanted. Painted Table: BEFORE & AFTER

Love how this table turned out. It is graphite color and looks black but with tad gray. Perfect table for son's dorm room. Used 2 coats Graphite, Annie Sloan and one coat clear wax, will probably add another clear coat of wax tomorrow.

Painted Pub Table & chairs

This Pub table set needed a fresher color. I changed out the barstools and painted the top & stool legs in Anne Sloan “Duck Egg”. Topped off with clear wax and it's good to go.

"Before"-cute nesting tables

Finished this cute nesting table set today. Very cute and perfect for my girlie home office. Cannot wait to chalk paint these nesting tables. They have so much detail and should turn out really cute. Stay tuned for the “After”.

Chalk Paint Wicker baskets

You can chalk paint just about anything including wicker baskets. This tier corner unit now matches the colors in my bathroom. Paint with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint “Duck Egg” + one coat dark wax.

Needed a fresh look on this small counter top next to my laundry area. The original old counter from the ‘80’s just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I like how they turned out. Used Annie Sloan “Graphite” and 2 coats clear wax. It has been 2 weeks and it is holding up nicely so far. Next I will be painting the oak cabinets in “old white”. Will post more pics “After” the cabinets are complete.

You're gonna LOVE these cute barstools

Before- These 2 barstools I picked up at a garage sale. They were a little rough but very sturdy and were probably nice at one time.

1st Coat- Love Duck Egg. After- And one coat of dark wax over the clear wax and it really warms it up and adds texture.

Turns out these bar stools are my fave! Love the rustic feel and left the wood top for texture. 2 coats Annie Sloan “Duck Egg”, one coat each of clear and dark wax. Have not found a home yet for them but they will be extra seats at our next party.

Key Rack Makeover

The transformation of the key rack.…it really was not bad originally just a little dull. It is hanging on the wall next to the washer & dryer at the back door, and is used quite a bit so I wanted to like it more. It had 3 mirrors which are pretty much useless. I used 2 coats “Old White” Annie Sloan paint, 1 coat of clear wax and dark wax. I then painted over the mirrors with “Graphite” to turn the mirrors into chalk boards. Now it can be used as note board or “to do” reminders as I grab my keys on my way out the door. Fun new look. This is the original.

My first "Duck Egg" projects-this colors a keeper

I really wanted to start in the kitchen with this color. The idea is to add splashes of this color to bring out the similar color in the blinds. I started with 2 small items on the counter that were light wood. I used Annie Sloan "Duck Egg Blue" and then 1 coat of clear & 1 coat of dark wax. Funny thing is I think the color looks green. I like how these turned out and I will be painting a table with this color. Before & After:

My first projects

The start of a new chapter As my last child leaves the nest for college this week I feel it is time to create something new for myself. I have wanted to paint furniture for a while but could never seem to find the time. So now I am making the time. My first projects are 2 pieces I picked up around town. I am starting with Annie Sloan “Old White” with coat of clear & dark wax for a slight distressed look. After Photos soon…
